A large fragment from an LB manghal, possibly the same manghal as Ar/Ab.AB1.04.C.04. The rounded rim is slightly indented on the interior, and a large spall off the upper two-thirds of the exterior surface has completed exposed the fabric there. On the superior rim surface, the “right side” as stanced, features a hemispherical divet similar to those present on the AB3 manghal. Here, the rim profile is interrupted for 6 mm. No decoration visible, but the there are numerous straw impressions on the interior surface, as well as a very high mica content that makes both surfaces shimmer. There are also several burn out holes and/or inclusion pops on both surfaces. Both surfaces feature numerous horizontal wiping marks and impressions. It is assumed here that the “interior” is the Black surface and the exterior the Light Brownish Gray one, based on the reconstructed AB3 manghal and the pyrotechnic burn patterns on the ArAGATS manghals more generally. The external surface is highly mottled and 33% covered in light gray concretion. The superior rim surface is abraded and discolored, featuring a thin layer of white concretion. Sherd is thick, hard, and very difficult to break, so band counting is with .75 confidence. In addition to the coarse sand, significant frequencies of fine, medium, and very coarse sand are visible in the fabric. Breaks are rough.
No characteristics supplied for shoulder.
