This is a fragment of an EB zoomorphic andiron, typical of the Karnut-Gegharot-Shengavit type. It consists of a hand-made mass of red-slipped, reduced-fired clay of an extremely high gravel content, making the object remarkably heavy for its size. Some horizontal lines on one side make it likely that the fragment is a "horn" portion of a zoomorphic ram. Some additional evidence of fired-out chaff in the fabric.
