Remarks

The interior portion of a LM vessel rim, clearly recently torn off the lateral, exterior portion. Sherd consists of two mending pieces, one much smaller than the other. The fragment features an interior "indent" in the rim, otherwise it couldn't even be designated LM. Therefore, while the rim is noted above as "rounded" it could be just about anything. Most likely, however, this is a rolled jar rim. There are no exterior munsells or treatments, because there is no exterior material preserved. While coarse inclusions predominate, fine, medium, and coarse sand particles are also present. The inclusions are white and chunky, like granite or calcite. The clay bodies are broad, flaky, layered, and folded over on one another, suggesting the rolled rim. Light yellowish brown corrosion covers 50% of the sherd. Breaks are hackley.
