A less common, but still typologically LB vessel type (according to Pavel Avetisyan), this fragment may belong to a small jar or a "shouldered" LB bowl. The decoration schema of the vessel consists of (a) a cannelured shoulder where the flutes run inferiorly-superiorly, each furrow and ridge average 0.93cm in width, and (b) a large incised spiral that covers the entire exterior base. Only the most inferior portion of the shoulder is present on this fragment, the distal edges of the cannelure. The exterior surface is highly abraded, but traces of polish are visible throughout (except on the base). Flutes may not have been polished, but the ridges between them definitely were. While light yellowish brown corrosion is present over 20% of the interior and exterior surfaces, the high frequency of surface-perforating coarse sand grains is plainly visible. These grains are present in the fabric in addition to the above-noted medium sand. Rotational striations are visible over the entire of the preserved internal surface. Some slight lamination is visible in the breaks, especially at the shoulder, suggesting a slab or layering technique. While listed above as Dusky Red 10R 3/2, the actual core band 1 color is Dusky Red 2.5YR 3/2. Chemically cleaned 2008-12-01. Breaks are rough.
