Remarks

A thick indeterminate body sherd that is interesting for the technological, formation evidence on the exterior surface. Where the exterior slip has flaked away, steady circumferential impressions are visible are visible, measuring on average 0.11cm in width and spaced on average 0.05cm apart. This might indicate some kind of textile use during formation (for rolling out slabs or for building a vessel within). No rotational striations are visible on the interior surface, but skew striations are visible on the exterior surface. The exterior surface is highly mottled with Black GY1 2.5/N, but it doesn't appear to be carbon (doesn't rub off), more likely a firing cloud. Coarse sand is visible in the fabric in addition to the medium sand listed above. Inclusions of various sizes perforate both surfaces. One pyrite pop to note. Breaks are rough.
