A sherd from a large KA jar, decorated exactly at the n/s transition with a wide (approx. 2.72cm), hectic band of impressed decorations. The restored vessel fragment consists of 2 joining sherds and a large swath of gypsum fill. While not rendered in an exacting, consistent style, the basic decoration schema consists of a series of large, interdigitated triangles, the upper triangles pointing downwards and the lower triangles pointing upwards, positioned between a furrow above and an incised line below (where the shoulder begins rather suddenly). The triangles could also be seen as the spaces left over by a wide zigzag ornament. The furrow and incised line slightly raise the ornamentation into a "belt." The exterior surface is highly polished, burnished, and horizontal polishing marks are visible. The interior surface hosts horizontal rotational striations as well as deeper furrows from wiping or trimming activity. There is also some degree of mottling on the interior shoulder, mixing the Dark Gray 5YR 4/1 with Reddish Brown 5YR 4/3. In addition to the dominant fine sand inclusions, medium sand grains are visible in the fabric and perforating the interior surface. Pyrite grains are also visible in the interior surface. Breaks are rough-to-smooth and there are minor (10%) amounts of light brown corrosion on the interior surface.
