Remarks

Probably a KA pot or jar, and most likely a shoulder fragment, although it's a possible body. The superior portion of the preserved fragment has a large spall over the entire internal surface. The decoration schema consists of two spirals, the "left" one larger than the right, positioned on either side of three deep furrows. These ornaments likely played a role in a larger decorative program that included other embossed morphic elements. The interior features circumferential rotational striations and the external surface hosts tight polish marks. Fine and coarse sand, and grit particles, are present in addition to the medium sand noted above. Coarse sand particles and pyrite particles perforate approx 30-40% of both surfaces. Breaks are hackly.
