layer of architectural collapse, decayed concrete, stone and fill which is contained between the trough (built locus 10) and the western caravanserai wall. defined below the level of the trough rim, as well as beneath the level of the fallen ashlar facings locus 11. so, locus 09 is a more-or-less contained collapse deposit, with its lower level defined by a layer of large architectural collapse lying flat above locus 13.
