Designated MAE223--radiographed, XRF, SAXS. Fragment from an undecorated, short-necked LM jar. Dense circumferential rotational striations are visible on the interior surface, while several circumferential rotations are visible on the exterior. The external rim and superior rim surfaces are highly chipped and spalled. There is also a single chip on the inferior shoulder. The interior rim, around the indent, is highly eroded and missing rotational striations. Band 1 should be Dark Reddish Brown 5YR 3/2, not 3/3. The exterior surface features moderate amounts of light gray dendritic corrosion, particularly on the inferior half of the sherd, lower neck and shoulder. In addition to the very fine sand, significant amounts of medium and coarse sand are visible in the fabric. Inclusions and pyrite pops perforate all surfaces in moderate frequencies (but particularly the internal rim). Breaks are rough.
