Designated MAE187--radiographed, XRF, SAXS. A fragment from a medium-sized LM jar, a beautiful oxidized color, this sherd consists of two sub-fragments, one proper sherd and an attaching, exterior spall. The decorative schema consists of a two circumferential incised lines positioned on the shoulder. The lines average 0.3 cm in width and are spaced 0.43 cm apart. The polishing marks on the exterior run horizontally, beginning at the n/s transition. The external and internal rim are also polished. Inferior to the rim, the internal surface is almost completely abraded away, save a small portion on the bottom left (shoulder). The rim indent features lots of abrasion evidence, so that the polish is abraded away in circumferential patterns at two different locations (0.38 and 0.72 cm from the lateral rim surface). Dense circumferential rotational striations are visible on all the surfaces except for the external neck and small preserved internal shoulder. The exterior is mottled with many brown and red shades, following the horizontal, circumferential polish. The interior surface features moderate amounts of light gray dendritic corrosion on the inferior shoulder (33% of the interior). In addition to the very fine sand, limited amounts of medium, coarse, and very coarse sand are visible in the fabric. Limited amounts of inclusions perforate all surfaces, with highly limited amounts of pyrite pops visible in all surfaces. Breaks are hackley.
