Huge diameter vessel, in fact large than 60cm, but our chart is too small. Exterior surface is rather mottled, varying between the 2.5 YR 5/3 Reddish Brown mentioned above to a Black Gley 1 2.5/N. Burnishing tool marks are consistently horizontal across the entire exterior. Flaking of the slip or top "slab" on the exterior demonstrates the nature of the rim application over a clay core which is continuous with the neck. Designated MAE 623.
