Approximately half of the polishing marks on the exterior surfac of this sherd have abraded off. The interior surface is severely mottled with some sort of black crud. Sharpie markings indicate that this sherd originally joined with another, perhaps including the other half of the saddle handle. The existing half-saddle is slightly furrowed on its superior surface, allowing for ergonomic pinching. Delaminated clay layers evidence a slab technology. Designated MAE 632.
