Remarks

Designated MAE157--radiographed, XRF, SAXS. A small, undecorated base/body fragment from a small LB vessel, featuring a minimally elaborated foot. Dense circumferential rotational striations are visible on the both surfaces, but the internal ones are particularly clear and more deeply impressed (less smoothed?). The exterior is 10% covered with light gray dendritic corrosion, evenly distributed. In addition to the very fine sand, significant amounts of fine, medium, and coarse sand are visible in the fabric. Both surfaces feature moderate amounts of pyrite pops and perforating inclusions. Theses are more prominent on the exterior which appears to be slightly eroded. Breaks are smooth.
