Remarks

This sherd stances as an unrestricted vessel, but we know that Kura-Araxes ('tripartite') vessels can have out-turned, biconical necks, meaning a restructed vessel. So this neck COULD be 'biconical', not 'inverted cone'. Slight light brown transition area between black and red core bands, but not significant enough to be deemed its own core band. Very sever abrasion on the exterior surface of this sherd has removed almost half of the polish, evenly distributed across the sherd. However, the polishing marks that remain are of a very good quality. Medium sand inclusions punctuate the mostly find sand included fabric. Delaminated clay layers evidence a slab technology. Designated MAE 635.
