Core band 3 is actually Pink 7.5YR 7/3, but this choice is not available. The interior surface exhibits faint traces of a yellowish red burnish, meaning that the portion of the interior closest to the rim may have originally been 'slipped and polished', not simply 'slipped and smoothed.' All polishing marks indicate a horizontal polishing technique. Occasional coarse sand grains are present. Linear decoration appears to encircle the vessel at the very top of the shoulder. It is possible to feel the transition / ungulation between slab portions on the interior surface, near the neck/shoulder transition. Designated MAE 637.
