Remarks

This sherd stances as an unrestricted vessel, but we know that Kura-Araxes ('tripartite') vessels can have out-turned, biconical necks, meaning a restricted vessel. Delaminated clay layers evidence the slab technology. most of the exterior and interior surfaces are polished, except the lower half of the interior surface where the polish may have abraded, or may never have been present. All polishing marks are horizontal and the interior marks are particularly well preserved. SAXS analysis conducted at ANL on 3/16/06. Designated MAE 641.
