Designated MAE236--radiographed, XRF, SAXS. A fragment from a medium-sized LM jar. A linear furrow/depression marks the internal n/s transition. The decorative schema consists of two circumferential incised lines positioned just above a register of at least 6 circumferential comb-incised wavy lines. The lines average 0.06 cm in width and are spaced 0.12 cm apart. The wavy lines average 0.1 cm in width and are spaced on average 0.15 cm apart. The exterior appears to have been highly polished at some point, extending up to the superior rim surface, with significant amounts of it now abraded off. The spaces between each line feature a line of circumferential polish/slip. The superior rim surface exhibits significant abrasion, wear, and light gray discoloration. A large chip is missing from the left hand external rim. Dense circumferential rotational striations are visible on the interior surface, while abrasion, corrosion, and decoration have obliterated potential external rotational striations. The exterior surface features moderate amounts of light gray corrosion, particularly amidst the left hand shoulder wavy line decorations while the right hand internal rim surface is completely covered in light gray corrosion (filling abrasion surfaces). In addition to the fine sand, significant frequencies of medium and coarse sand are visible in the fabric. Highly limited frequencies of pyrite pops and inclusions perforate both surfaces. Breaks are rough.
