Designated MAE125--radiographed, XRF, SAXS. A sizable fragment from a medium sized LB jar, it is b/s here, and the most superior portion of the sherd appears to begin just below the neck. The decorative schema consists of a single application of circumferential comb-incised lines--9 lines in total. The lines average 0.25 cm in width and are spaced on average 0.3 cm apart. The exterior appears to have been highly polished at some point, with significant amounts of it now abraded off, particularly between each comb incision. The spaces between each line feature a line of missing circumferential polish/slip. Dense circumferential rotational striations are visible on the interior surface, while several circumferential rotational scratch marks ad striations are visible superior and inferior to the exterior comb incisions. Below the shoulder the Gray exterior shoulder surface, the sherd gradually transitions to a shiny Black GY1 2.5/N and then to a Light Brownish Gray 10YR 6/2 on the small preserved area of the body. Band 2/4 should be labeled 2.5Yr 4/3, not 4/4. Band 5 (not available here) is Black GY1 2.5/N. The exterior surface features limited amounts of light gray dendritic corrosion, particularly on the superior-most portion of the sherd, just below the where the neck would begin. In addition to the coarse sand, significant amounts of very coarse and medium sand are visible in the fabric. The external surface is moderately covered in pyrite pops, with lower fewer frequencies observable on the interior surface. Breaks are hackley.
