Designated MAE154--radiographed, XRF, SAXS. A sizable fragment from a large LB jar. The decorative schema consists of three circumferential, applied cord decorations. The cords average 1.4cm in width and the impressions in each applique that provide the cord appearance average 1.7cm in length, spaced average 1.2 cm apart. Superior to the 3 circumferential decorations are dense, skew burnishing marks, running, for the most part, from upper left to lower right. This more superior area of the shoulder may have been polished at some point, though little of that effect is still present. Dense circumferential rotational striations are visible on the external surface, INCLUDING on the applique decorations. The external surface is mottled with 10% Very Dark Gray GY1 3/N and encrusted 20% with light gray 7.5YR 7/1, reddish brown 5YR 4/3, and red 10R 5/6 material, likely a result of the Gegharot shrine conflagration. The interior munsell color should be listed as Weak Red 2.5YR 4/2. The interior is 70% covered in light gray 7.5YR 7/1 corrosion In addition to the fine sand, significant amounts of medium and coarse sand, and pebbles are visible in the fabric. Both surfaces are unusually free of inclusion perforations or pyrite pops. There is a single circumferentially running crack on the exterior running left to right between decorations 1 and 2. Breaks are rough.
