Designated MAE184--radiographed, XRF, SAXS. A fragment from a large LB jar, pot, or pithos. Enormous orifice diameter. The decorative schema consists of numerous, uncountable circumferential comb-incised lines of many widths, none larger than 4 mm. The lines begin on the mid-neck and are present down the entire inferior portion of the sherd from that point. The upper neck is smooth and unpolished. It appears as if the lines were created by wiping off polish when the vessel was already drying somewhat. Polish continues over the entire interior, except for the internal neck. There are several polish removal lines on the interior shoulder. Dense circumferential rotational striations are visible on the internal neck and external rim. The external and internal munsells refer to the surface color under the polish, which makes the surfaces look Black GY1 2.5/N. The external shoulder and internal rim surfaces feature limited amounts of light gray dendritic corrosion. In addition to the fine sand, significant amounts of medium, coarse, and very coarse sand are visible in the fabric. Moderate amounts of pyrite pops are visible on the interior, with lower frequencies observable on the exterior. Breaks are rough.
