Remarks

Designated MAE201--radiographed, XRF, SAXS. Fragment from an undecorated short-necked LM jar. The exterior polish is applied beginning on the shoulder with hasty horizontal strokes. The exterior and superior rim surfaces appear to have also been originally polished, although most of that polish has now abraded or eroded away. The exterior inferior rim surface features numerous chips and abrasions. Circumferential rotational striations are visible on the exterior surface, but not on the interior. In addition to the fine sand, highly significant amounts of medium sand are visible in the fabric and all surfaces. The interior is perforated by very high frequencies of inclusions and fissures. Limited amounts of pyrite pops are visible on the interior. Breaks are rough.
