Remarks

Note: this sherd consists of two mending pieces. Core band 2 color should be 2.5 YR 4/3 Reddish Brown. This is a good-sized fragment from a pithos or large storage jar, just can\'t say exactly which. It has a lot of black mottling on its exterior surface and may have been in the Gegharot fires. Roasted and mottled interior surface also supports this. The exterior is also 30% covered in white corrosion, distributed across the entire surface. There are four lines on the shoulder, likely made simultaneously with a comb tool. Mica is visible in the exterior surface and lots of coarse inclusions, grit, and even pebbles are visible in the interior surface and sherd breaks.
