Core colors 1 and 3 should be 5YR 6/3 Light Reddish Brown. Interior color should be 7.5 YR 7/2 Pinkish Gray. This sherd exhibits a compact fabric and light coloring throughout--the dark core color suggests that it was perhaps removed from the reducing atmosphere at the end of the firing in order to produce the light interior and exterior shades. There doesn\'t appear to be any polish on the sherd exterior, but faints lines of light and dark next to the relief band suggest possible decorative elements no longer visible. Parallel linear markings on the interior suggest some kind of rotational technique during formation. No mica visible, 20% black corrosion on the exterior and interior surfaces.
