Remarks

While the sorting is noted as poor, it is worth mentioning that this sherd has a highly compact, dense, hard, and well prepared paste with some grains larger than medium, too many to be well sorted. The decorative line is very lightly incised on the lateral surface of the rim. This rim is most likely rolled, its simply not significantly tucked under itself so was not listed as rolled here. The top surface of the rim is significantly abraded--indicating use? This jar has a significant neck, but its not cylindrical, and seems to be quickly flaring out. Probably not a pitcher. Approximately 30% of the exterior surface is covered with dark brown corrosion. Mica visible throughout
