Remarks

This sherd looks less handmade than T16.117.C.04 an has a much finer fabric, but the interior surface is much more lump. The form is clear here, however, a small jar. Sherd thickness varies widely by body part, the above thickness is taken from the body. The cone decoration is almost cylindrical. with an empty, scooped-out center. It has not been applied very deftly, leaving a lot of extra clay and smear marks around. Interior surface is heavily mottled with numerous reddish gray and gray shades. There are rotation scratches on the upper portion of the internal surface and possible skewed textile impressions on the lower portion. Rotational striations are also present on the external surface. While the exterior surface is listed as polished, the polish is only extant on the lower shoulder and body portions. From the upper shoulder to the rim the vessel has faint, but abraded polish traces.
