Interior color should be Dark Brown 7.5YR 3/3. Adjust Red 2/5YR 4/6 to 2.5YR 4/6. Much of the exterior polish from this likely jar sherd has abraded away, but it can still be seen near the shoulder decorations and in portions throughout the rest of the sherd. Beginning directly below the neck/shoulder transition is a register of 4 incised lines, likely produced by a comb. This is characteristic of other high placement decorations on LBA jars. There is also a spotty distribution of black corrosion or even mold covering 40% of the exterior surface. While the inclusions consist primarily of coarse sand particles, there is a lot of medium sand present as well. The core color sandwich may indicate movement during firing from reducing to oxidizing atmospheres. No significant mica observed. Fractures are rough.
