Remarks

This is a typical thin-walled LB storage jar. The orientation was determined from the pressure placement of the furrows, orienting the deeper edge to the top, closer to the potter. This was confirmed against complete examples in the depot. The exterior surface seems to have been completely polished, but much has abraded away over time. The interior surface is also severely abraded, with most of the internal slip rubbed off completely. This may be due to depositional factors, or perhaps the Gegharot fires. There are still some textile/basket or rotational markings evident on the internal slip. Grit and pebble-size inclusions are also visible in the fabric from the interior side. 20% of the exterior surface features white and orange corrosion, and there is minimal mica popping on the exterior surface. Fractures are rough.
