A nicely preserved inverted conical crucible. The shape is slightly irregular which causes the vessel to list slightly to one side. The handle would have been a single long straight protrusion, roughly oval in section, for pouring. The exterior surface is undecorated but highly mottled brownish to yellowish red with black carbon streaking on one side. The interior is also highly polished. Although a cup in shape, the use traces strongly suggest it was employed in work, perhaps as a crucible. But that form designation should be considered provisional.
