Sherd is a nice reddish color, but it is difficult to estimate if the vessel is closed or open. The fabric is highly mottled, so brown colors are present in addition to the listed black and gray shades. Medium and fine sand are mixed in with the coarse sand mentioned above. There are internal and external surface striations present, indicating some rotational action during formation. The external surface is 60% covered in very dark gray corrosion, which for some reason is absent directly below the rim. One internal surface mica pop, breaks are smooth. Pavel says the small orifice diameter and rim shape makes this an LB long-necked pitcher fragment.
