Remarks

This fragment shows a characteristic convex LB base with diagnostic annular striations. Rotational striations are visible on the external surface and on the internal surface they are more like impressions. The core bands are rather unusually distributed, corresponding to the thick slip applications on both surfaces, but also red on the break edges, perhaps suggesting secondary firing after being broken, likely in the Gegharot fires. Lots of coarse sand in addition to the dominant medium sand inclusions. No significant corrosion on the surfaces, and the exterior surface is rathe abraded. Mica is visible in the surfaces, breaks are smooth.
