This jar sherd appears to have been well-roasted in the Gegharot fires, the internal clay application having flaked off and changed color all over the fragment. It is difficult to estimate the rim diameter, because so litter of the rim is present. It measures anywhere between 18 and 50cm. But the incredibly horizontally extended shoulder suggests a restricted form vessel. In fact, the shoulder rises and falls once after the neck, going from a perpendicular to a conical axis. The neck portion is more than 2cm high. Large variations in shades of gray make exact color estimations difficult. The above external and internal colors describe the dominate shade. These variations are not simply a result of the Gegharot conflagrations as they gradate very nicely into each other--likely a result of firing conditions. Rotational striations are strongly expressed on the neck and just below the rim, but further down the vessel there are striations which extend lengthwise down the shoulder. The neck is 75% covered by white corrosion. Lots of mica popping on the exterior surface.
