Remarks

LM sherd likely from a jar. While the shoulder does not meet the rim as directly as possible, the vessel is essentially neck-less. No visible decoration. The rim is not rolled, but pressure has been applied from below to form the rim's protruding form, resulting in a slight incision that has filled with excavation matrix and/or corrosion. Very little of the shoulder is preserved on the fragment. In addition to the surface colors mentioned above, the interior and exterior are mottled with Very Dark Gray GY1 3/N, perhaps firing clouds, perhaps midden/destruction level coloration. The fabric is mottled with Dark Gray GY1 4/N. Circumferential rotational striations are visible in all surfaces. Limited frequencies of coarse sand inclusions are also included in the fabric. Moderate amounts of pyrite pops are visible in both surfaces, but little pyrite visible in the fabric. Breaks are rough.
