Rim sherd likely from an LB shouldered bowl. This black on black vessel hosts an interesting register of ornaments on the upper shoulder, 1.25cm below the rim, consisting of a single zigzag register positioned amidst a set of incised circumferential lines. The zigzag is not incised, but created by polish removal. In fact, it appears that the lines were applied first (comb is possible, although listed above as line), and the zigzag then superimposed after the first line by removing polish. There may be additional incised lines further down the shoulder as the break is situated in the middle of the final visible line. The superior rim surface is highly abraded and discolored, likely from use. The exterior surface is 20% covered in light yellowish brown corrosion. The interior surface is 30% mottled with light yellowish brown corrosion and Light Brownish Gray 10YR 6/2. High frequency circumferential rotational striations are visible on both surfaces. Pyrite and pyrite pops are moderately visible on both surfaces. Fine sand is also present in the fabric, along with the medium sand, and limited particle frequencies perforate all surfaces. Breaks are rough.
