A short-necked LM jar with a short orifice diameter to match. The shoulder may be commencing at the very edge of the sherd, therefore the short-neck note. While not "two-part," the rim has some additional textural changes on its exterior, a single lateral undulation. While much of the original polish has abraded off of this sherd, portions are left on the exterior neck and the lateral rim surface. All remaining polish, however, is visible in circumferential lines, although much of it sits beneath corrosion or weathering. These could be polish ornaments. All this polish and corrosion/weathering means that the exterior neck features Reddish Brown 5YR 4/3 coloration in addition to the light brown noted above. The light brown may in fact be mostly corrosion or weathering. The exterior also features circumferential rotational striations. The interior features circumferential rotational striations and polish that transitions from the exterior rim onto the interior more than 1.5cm. Interior corrosion or weathering makes it difficult to identify the end of the interior polish. The rather compact paste contains significant frequencies of fine sand particles in addition to the above-noted medium sand. Inclusions of both sizes are visible perforating both surfaces. Several small organic burnouts are visible on the interior surface. Breaks are rough.
