Rim sherd from an LM cup or shouldered bowl. The decorative schema consists of 6 circumferential incised (comb) lines on the upper (visible) shoulder. The entire exterior may have been polished as one point, but at this point most of it has abraded away. The interior surface features circumferential rotational striations. There are 4 core bands listed above, but band 1 is basically the exterior slip--strange that the exterior slip is not thick enough to appear as a core band. In addition to the medium sand, moderate frequencies of fine and coarse sand are also present in the fabric. High frequencies of all inclusion types, as well as pyrite particles, are visible perforating all surfaces. This is particularly evident on the exterior and superior rim surfaces where there has been more abrasion, perhaps from intense use. Breaks are rough.
