N-s portion of a small LB jar where only the extreme inferior beginning of the neck portion is present. The decorative schema consists of a circumferential register of nail-shaped incisions positioned on the lower shoulder, just above 4 circumferential incised line ornaments, executed with a comb tool. There are quite likely more incised lines below the inferior break. The nail-shaped incisions average 1.4cm in length. The exterior surface is mottled with Gray 5Y 6/1 and features limited amounts of gray corrosion, particularly filling the nail incisions. Interior color should be Gray 2.5YR 6/1. There is a single subtle furrow on the interior surface at the n/s transition. Both surfaces feature high-density circumferential rotational striations. The fabric is very well fired compact, featuring high frequencies of coarse and very coarse sand particles in addition to the medium sand noted above. These inclusions are visible perforating both surfaces--high frequency on the interior and moderate on the exterior. Breaks are smooth.
