Lb bowl fragment with a rather complete profile (just no base). The rim is thickened, on the exterior, so that it gains approximately 33% thickness 1cm inferior to the superior rim surface. External carbon or burning obscures some of the decorative schema, which appears to consist of s circumferential zig-zag on the interior (thickened) rim, followed by at least 7 shallowly incised (comb) circumferential lines on the shoulder and body of the vessel. Superimposed over the second incised line from the top of the set is a second circumferential zigzag ornament. Because of the shallowness of the incisions the comb ornaments look a bit like polish ornaments. While much of the polish has abraded away, it appears as if the entire exterior was originally polished. The superior zigzag repeats at an average frequency of 1.4cm, while not enough of the inferior zigzag is preserved for an estimate. The exterior surface is mottled with Black GY1 2.5/N or carbon. Intense circumferential rotational striations are visible on both surfaces inferior to the (thickened) rim. Moderate amounts of fine sand are present in the fabric in addition to the medium sand particles noted above. Moderate frequencies of inclusions are visible perforating the interior surface. 10% of the exterior (mostly on the rim) and 20% of the interior are covered in light yellowish brown corrosion. Breaks are rough.
