Area of sandy (decaying bedrock?) between the two lines of the main wall running SE to E in the S half of the trench. This locus in particular is located in the eastern extent of the wall, where a second line runs out of the S baulk to parallel the courses running around the side and W end of the trench. Some crumbled EB sherds as well as LB sherds found here, though the context is unsure as half of this space was covered with plastic and conserved at the end of the 2006 season. the lower reaches of the locus-- to the western end of the sloping wall-- steps down to a height of between 2284.67 and 2284.31. at this point, the locus contains a greater depth of topsoil-- to the point where the secondary wall courses may at this location be laid on topsoil above the bedrock.
