This fragment is from a small horseshoe andiron. Though the object is fragmented, it is only broken on one side where the end meets the body. The "end" that we have is decorated with a three prong almost anthropomorphic face. This end would -- based on previous finds -- had a mirroring end on the other side of the andiron. While the "top" of the andiron is only 21.17mm wide, the end that we have that would have connected to the body is 54.31mm wide giving an impression of the overall morphology of the object.
