A small handmade LB pot, lightly crimped towards the top to create a short neck, and furnished with a line of thick, impressed oblique hatches on the b/s break. The hatches run from upper right to lower left and average 1.3cm long. After resotration approx. 80% of the original vessel appears to be present. The handmade qualities of the vessel make many portions of the form very inconsistent: the base isvery uneven, lumpy; the Rim plan not symetrical, not a consistent "circle," and the b/s decoration runs up and down the vessel, sometimes above the transition, sometimes below. The rim shape isn't consistently flat enough to be rectangular, so it is noted above as "rounded," but portions of it are extremely flat. Both the interior and exterior surfaces are highly mottled: the exterior with Reddish Brown 5YR 5/4 and Black GY1 2.5/N, the interior with Brownish Yellow 10YR 6/6 and Very Dark Gray GY1 3/N. The exterior is more polished above the b/s transition than below it. Very coarse sand and grit particles are visible perforating the interior and exterior surfaces, in addition to the dominant medium sand inclusions. Coding was begun on 2008-11-21 and finished on 2008-11-26, after restoration. Coded with AFG.
