Designated MAE1735--radiographed, XRF
A sizable fragment from a small LB pot or bowl (basin), almost a complete profile from rim to lower body. The shoulder and superior body portion are significantly abraded and spalled, so that the decorative schema is very much obliterated. The remaining portions consist of a series of oblique polish decoration running from upper right to lower left set above a single circumferential furrow. The polish ornaments may each consist of three sub-lines, but the abrasion makes this difficult to confirm. Regardless, the oblique ornaments measure 0.41cm in average width and are spaced 0.31cm apart on average. They extend 2.8cm in length from lower rim to shoulder. The furrow decoration averages 0.28cm in width. The exterior appears to have been highly polished at some point, with significant amounts of it now abraded off, particularly within the furrow. Dense circumferential rotational striations are visible on the interior and exterior surfaces. Both the interior and exterior surfaces feature moderate amounts of light gray dendritic corrosion. On the exterior, this focuses particularly on the rim, neck, and upper shoulder. In addition to the medium sand, significant frequencies of fine and coarse sand are visible in the fabric. Breaks are hackley.
