Surface stratum. Includes sod and topsoil. Topsoil seems to have significant depth. 3 large basalt boulders visible. Initially they were thought to form a curved structure, but were later found to be floating and likely not architecture.
Small-sized LBA potsherds, very common. Obsidian is also common, likely unworked. Animal bones are the least common.
