Stratum immediately below locus 2, inside the stone quadrant. Soil is more loamy (larger-grained, wet), with a brown-to-tan color than locus 2.
Potsherds very common (likely LBA). Animal bones are occuring with increasing frequency. Virtually no obsidian.
