Rim-to-base sherd. However, only a very small portion of base is present—where the body starts to form the base. The vessel was probably a shallow bowl or cup that was slightly restricted with an estimated height of 5.5 cm. Two registers of decoration are present. The superior register consists of a skewed latitudinal wavy line that was incised with a blunt tool when the fabric was still plastic, as the displaced fabric is thrown-up. The inferior register consists of at least 8 latitudinal furrows probably formed with a comb tool while the vessel was in a leather-hard condition, as the lines are cleanly formed and very parallel to each other. The end of the comb probably had a slight median ridge, as this pattern seems to reflect this in each furrow. The sherd is thickest at the upper shoulder/neck, at 0.7 mm. The shoulder/body then tapers to 0.5 mm, and flares to 0.6 mm where the base starts. These dimensions give the vessel a top-heavy profile.
