Locus 4 occupies the same stratum as loci 2 and 3. The soil is a lighter, greyish-brown with a well-sorted medium grain that is typical for the cultural layers just below topsoil at SLT.
Locus 4 is located at the northeast corner of SLT12, east of and adjacent to locus 2, the central locus of SLT12. The space of locus 4 encompasses a small area bounded by a section of multicourse wall that is present to a much larger extent in SLT 9, SLT10, SLT11. This wall probably forms a room.
Subsequent excavators should take note that the top of locus 4 has not been dug through, as most operations at SLT12 were focused on locus 2, in the interest of time.
