Good carbon sample from a slope of ashy clay that appears to have washed into the pit feature from the locus 33 channel. The locus 31 floor was covered in this ashy clay, so I'm presuming this is how it washed into the pit. Carbon would be useful therefore in dating the floor, though it's not a direct context (but nevertheless probably contemporary with the pit itself).
