Paved stone floor in WSAC, extending from Feature 26 in the east and running along the NE wall into the room, extending into the SW baulk. This floor does not reach the NW baulk, however, but seems to stop about half a meter short where it becomes a hardpacked, silty clay floor. The floor slopes to the west, likely due to the natural slope. The top elevation given is for a stone about midway in the operation, on the NW side. The floor consists of flat and some worked stones, with charcoal on some of the stones. The matrix between the stones is mottled, and to the NW the hardpacked silty clay floor is also mottled with streaks of charcoal. Only one elevation taken because we did not excavate beneath this floor.
30/6/2011 KK- The radiocarbon date from a piece of charcoal from this floor came back as mid first millennium, stratum 3.
