This locus constitutes the beginning appearance of the clay-y, tannish brown cultural layer seen in the excavations of WSAC and WSAD in 2010, and runs from the NW baulk to the SE baulk along the partition wall about a meter wide. It is mottled with some organic contents and the appearance of small pieces of charcoal, and is a much lighter, hardpacked matrix than in the rest of the room. It is possible that this marks the very top lens of a later floor, since the elevation is so much higher than the paved floor seen in WSAC. In the southern area of this locus trowelling revealed about 8 pieces of a large cooking vessel laying somewhat flat against the top of the locus, with organic material around it.
