This large rim to body sherd is very mottled on the exterior, which means the Munsell colors vary greatly across the sherd. The rim is rather flat on top--just a slight curvature--with a slight outward curve, which makes it two part. The interior surface is also mottled, but the predominant color is black. Towards the neck it seems more polished. It's probably a cooking vessel. Sent for INAA in Feb. 2007.
