12.13.06 A restored jar. The rim and neck do not join with the shoulder and body of the vessel, but they clearly belong together. The rim is continuous and rectangular, but narrows a bit. The interior color is a light yellowish brown everywhere except on the neck and rim, where the interior color is the same as the weak red of the exterior. This exterior color appears to be rather thick, as if a paint, and not a slip. The exterior surfaces of the jar are very pot marked: there are mysterious rounded abrasions across the surface of the vessel. These don't appear to be in any pattern.
